This school year is full of changes, but we're up for the challenge! We're Ray Warriors, after all! I've contacted families with all the information needed to start class this coming Tuesday, September 8th. If you have any additional questions or concerns, feel free to contact me. We had our first Warrior Wednesday check in yesterday! It was so great to see many of your faces on the video call! We miss you soooo much!! We tried using Google Hangouts Meet for the call yesterday, but it wasn't very helpful for our needs as a D/deaf class. After we hung up with you all, we tested out a new platform, Zoom, and are thinking that it would be a better app to use for remote learning from now on. CPS does not list Zoom as a preferred platform for video calls, but we DO have a form you can fill out stating you'd prefer to opt out of using Google Hangouts Meet. I'm attaching a link to the waiver, and was wondering if parents could sign the form and return it to me. Then after Spring Break when office hours and class lessons begin, we can use a videochat service that's a bit more D/deaf friendly! :) docs.google.com/document/d/13ThbvdjhfbDkIyCCdtK_bLXKy53wtYp6Iy2oS9iQuOk/edit?usp=sharing All you have to do is take the picture of the form, download it, and fill out the form using a drawing feature on your phone. I know most of you don't have functional printers (myself included), so all you have to do is send back a picture of the signed form. If you have questions on how to do this, let me know. I can try and walk you through it. Thanks for your understanding! Mrs. Higgins |
